Prince George, B.C. -  At approximately 11:25 this morning Prince George Fire Rescue responded to a reported natural gas leak in the 9600 block of Penn Rd. 

 

Seven fire fighters from two halls arrived to find an excavator had dug through a four inch gas main.

 

The buildings in the immediate vicinity were evacuated and the road was closed for approximately 4 and 1/2 hours until Terasen Gas crews repaired the leak.

 

No injuries were sustained and the road was reopened at 4 PM.
