Williams Lake, B.C. - Gusty winds have caused the Kluskus Lakes fire to expand in size.

A fire near Kluskus Lakes is now estimated to be over 6200 hectares in size.  The recent growth of this fire has been due to high winds coming from the west which have pushed the fire to the south and east.  The fire continues to move away from the Kluskus community.  Sunday airtankers worked the Northeast flank of this fire and helped reinforce fire guards which had been built by heavy machinery.

An evacuation order is still in place for the Kluskus community.  For more information please contact the Cariboo Regional District at 250-392-4283.
