The Prince George and District Labour Council hopes to erect a memorial in the City in time for the April 28th National Day of Mourning for Killed and Injured Workers.

The Labour Council has been working with the City's Department of Leisure Services, an artist and a community member on plans for a piece of public art that will represent the North and the community members in the area.

To that end, City Council has agreed, in-principle, to put up $5,000.00 from the Public Arts Reserve Fund in the hopes that money will leverage further funding for the group, but the issue has also been referred to City staff to work with the Labour Council on the location, design, and protocol associated with public art.

It's estimated the memorial may be in the $10-thousand dollar range, as was the statue of Bridget Moran on 3rd Avenue, while the Terry Fox statue at Community Foundation Park was closer to $20,000.00.
