PRINCE GEORGE, BC - With the start of the 2009-10 season only hours away, the Prince George Spruce Kings have announced their selections for this year's captain and three assistant captains.

Into his third and final year with the Prince George Spruce Kings, the captain of the 2009-10 team has shown himself to be a leader with and without a letter. Last year an assistant captain, Sam Muchalla will wear the 'C' this year. His assistants have also shown great poise and leadership both on and off the ice; wearing an 'A' this season will be Wes McLeod, Justin Fillion and Nick DeSousa.
"There were many great choices in the dressing room for the role of captain and assistant," admits Ed Dempsey, Spruce Kings general manager and head coach. "But to be sure these players have shown that they can be leaders with their actions on the ice and their actions off the ice. They have been ambassadors for the Spruce Kings and the City of Prince George and this game we play."
Sam Muchalla, Wes McLeod, Justin Fillion and Nick DeSousa will be introduced along with the entire Spruce Kings roster tonight at 7:00pm just prior to the opening faceoff to start the 2009-10 regular season. The Spruce Kings start their 14th season in the British Columbia Hockey League against the Westside Warriors tonight and will then host the Penticton Vees on Saturday night; both games will be played at the Prince George Coliseum with doors open at 6:00pm.
