Prince George BC- It may have been just by a fraction but Prince George set a new high in temperature today by reaching 25.8 degrees. The old record was set in 1979 at 25.7 degrees. On Saturday we also hit a new high with a temperature of 28.2, the old record was 25.7 set in 1979.

PG however was not the only city in central BC to set new records ;  Vanderhoof tied the old record of 25 today, Quesnel set a new record yesterday and again today since records have been kept, reaching 27 degrees.

Williams Lake hit 28 degrees today beating the old record of 25.3 set in 1979, and Mackenzie set a new record high with a temp of 25, the old record was 24.3.

McBride does not have a full service for records but with temperatures expected of 28 today, 27 on Monday, 28 Tuesday and 28 Wednesday they also are expected to set several records.

North of the Pine Pass, while it remains hot, no new records have been set, however several are believed to have been tied.

Oh by the way, on this date in 1962 (for those that remember it well) the temperature dipped to -3-3 degrees.
