Prince George, B.C.- Just before 7 this morning, Prince George RCMP responded to reports of three suspicious males dressed in dark clothing in the 2700 block of Austin Road East in the Hart Highlands are of the city.
Shortly after that call, police started getting calls about vehicles that had been damaged and  items stolen from vehicles overnight in the Valleyview Road and Monterey Road area of the Hart.
Investigators found two youths and one adult who matched the descriptions provided by witnesses. All three suspects were arrested and police recovered several items that had been reported stolen, including MP3 players, iPods, cell phones, cash and  liquor. Police also found a small quantity of drugs.
Anyone who had items stolen in the area overnight, but who didn’t report it, is asked to call Prince George RCMP.

Turn them over to SINGAPOR ATHORITIES
And the penalty will be...? 2 for 1 deal while waiting for trial. (If locked up), which I doubt. Seems a liberal dominated senate is stalling the bill to abolish 2 for 1 deal. Leave it to Iggy and his Lieberal pals. Just visiting.
With all the crime stories in the news here, I am really surprised our Mayor and Town Council recently decided to hire a "Senior Communications Manager" for the City of Prince George at a reported salary of 95K a year. I would say an extra RCMP officer in Prince George is needed much more than a "Senior Communications Manager". What surprises me even more,is that I have not heard any of our elected City politicians speak up against this hiring. If you want a prime example of spending hard earned taxpayers' dollars on one of the lowest priority items there is, this is it. I think it is a safe bet this hiring will be discussed in our next Municipal election campaign. The (only) one good thing about an imploding economy is that we will have a lot more people running for political office in this country who know how to respect taxpayers' dollars.

I wish we would have elected Eugene Fetterly as Mayor of Prince George in our Municipal election last year. I think he would have started the ball rolling on the much needed shakeup to our City Hall that it desperately needs.

I posted the following on this web site on Nov. 14, 2008:

An article in a local newspaper on Nov. 12, 2008, quoted Eugene Fetterly as saying the following:

Why do you want to be mayor?
Eugene Fetterly: "I want to be mayor because it seems to me that none of the mayors in the past have had the guts to go to city hall's administration and say 'look, you guys start doing your job, you're being too complacent."

What are the top five issues facing the city?
Eugene Fetterly: Pay down the city's debt, make administration more accountable, "separating the needs from the wants," cleaning up the air, and "pulling people out of the trough."
Asked to elaborate, Fetterly said council members shouldn't get additional pay for sitting on such bodies as the regional district.

How would you address these challenges in your first 90 days in office?
Eugene Fetterly: Right away Fetterly would require department heads at city hall to come before council explain why they are good for the city and earning their money.
"We should fire the dead wood," he said adding he would freeze city wages for three years.

How would you do these things and still be fiscally responsible?
Eugene Fetterly: Fetterly said more of the city's work should be contracted out to the private sector.

Another local newspaper article (Nov.8, 2008) quoted Eugene Fetterly as saying the following:

"Obviously no one down there at city hall has taken time out to look at what's happening with the world economy."

You know Charles .. quite a few of us voted for Eugene. I hope he runs again. Even as a councilor.
WOW, this really got off target!!! Tom, you are so right. I watched a video of a Singapore flogging. That individual will not be coming back for seconds, I am sure!! We need to stop taking pity on these low life's. Flog them severely, in public, and send them on their way!! We will no longer have to house them in jail cells, they WILL straighten out! If not, they go to the "BIG" house, forever!

A simple solution, but the lawyers will not make so much money off of one individual anymore. They like the revolving door option, a never ending supply of cash.

I'm with the Fetterly for Mayor movement.Hope it grows!!
It is starting to get cold at night, they are probably just looking for us to put them up in the hotel on the hill for the winter.

Repeat offenders keep the justice department employed; I would not expect them to do anything that would deter criminals from reoffending.
I think it's all the new people we are bringing in. They need homes and money.
Fetterly is a loose cannon. LIke that mayor was in Port Coquitlam
Fetterly is not a loose cannon. Fetterly has balls. He's not a weasel that's afraid to do anything that might actually be good for the city. The sad part is he'll never get in. People are afraid to vote for him. 500 votes or whatever he had in the last election is an embarassment. He should be mayor of this town. Just like the NDP and the Liberals should all be sent to Tiajuana. How 'bout giving an independent or the Green Party a try? How could it be any worse? We've already been taxed to death. I mean really, who has "savings". haha. Idiot polititians will be the death of society as we know it. Just wait.

Other than that. Have a great day folks. As you were.
Didn't Fetterly, during one campaign, recommend hiring bikers armed with paintball guns to run the prostitutes out of town?
One of Fetterly's big characterizations is that he's someone who 'isn't afraid to speak his mind'; that doesn't automatically mean he knows what he's talking about.

There was a younger guy who ran for mayor in the last election (can't remember his name). He might be worth a look in a few years. Hopefully he runs again.
I think a term or two on council would give the public some opportunity to see how you handle things first. How can anyone expect voters to just give you the most responsible position at the city before you have proven yourself?
I'm pretty sure Hart Highlands is no where near Valleyview. Obviusly nobody took the time to change this before it was posted to your website...the CKPG report has the same wrong information. Also, the penalty for stealing with be "zero". They have not even been charged although they were caught red-handed. And the people they stole from can't even know their names. Their names should be posted and their pictues should be on the front page of the newspaper.
"I'm pretty sure Hart Highlands is no where near Valleyview. "

Roughly 2.5 km apart. Google maps has this cool little gismo in the lower left corner that gives the approximate distance for the scale of the map viewed.

Are you suggesting that a few young vandals could not traverse that distance in the time frame suggested?

Average walking speed, about 3 to 4 km/h up to 6 km/h if motivated.
