Northern Health Expands Coverage Of H1n1

Prince George -    Be advised that H1N1 vaccination eligibility has been expanded in all Northern Health communities. As of Monday, November 16, H1N1 vaccination eligibility across the north will include the following groups:
  • Persons under the age of 65 with chronic conditions (i.e. asthma, diabetes, etc.)
  • All pregnant women (unadjuvanted vaccine is now available for women in the first 20 weeks of pregnancy)
  • Persons who live in remote and isolated settings or communities (including all First Nations people living on reserve)
  • Health care workers delivering acute care, long term care, home care, and public health services
  • Children from 6 months to under 5 years of age
  • Household contacts of infants younger than 6 months of age
  • Household contacts of individuals with compromised immune systems
  • First responders (ambulance, police, fire)
  • People 65 years of age and over with chronic health conditions
  • Children from 5 years to 18 years inclusive
