Prince George- BC Hydro says 5349 customers will have to wait at least until this afternoon before power is restored to many areas of the central interior.

The heavy wet snow has sent trees tumbling across power lines from McBride to Prince Rupert.

The hardest hit area is to the west of the city.

9.8 M/M of snow fell on the area yesterday, giving Prince George its first real test of winter.

Temperatures are expected to reach 3 degrees today, 4 degrees tomorrow, with a 40% chance of rain or snow.

9.8 m.m.?
So like .385" of snow?
Maybe it was 9.8 C.M. or 3.85"
And the "first real test of winter" was October 25th, we received a fair amount of snow here in P.G. which melted within a day and a half.
But hey, I'm being picky.
metalman.
I trimmed my spruce tree branches hanging over my power line last night just as the snow started... good timing I thought today.
What ever the actual snow fall, our feckless highway maintenance co. ( they are called YRB, you probably have not seen much of them ) well anyway they are up to their usual NON standard of performance north of town. 06:30 today, highway not plowed, very dangerous, and of course the school bus route side roads come after the highway............getting used to it.
metalman.
I should hope so metalman, you do live in PG after all. No, snowplows cannot be everywhere scooping snow the second it hits the ground, like many people seem to want to believe.
