Prince George, B.C.- Opinion250 has learned Prince George City Councilor Cameron Stolz is being credited with defusing a situation on a recent Air Canada flight.
According to witnesses on the Vancouver to Toronto flight last Saturday, Stolz was one of 9 passengers in first class when a passenger who had been disruptive on the flight, punched a flight attendant.
Opinion 250 has been told, Councilor Stolz jumped from his seat and placed himself between the flight attendant and the agitated passenger, and talked to the passenger until she was calm enough to return to her seat in economy class.
There were further issues with the agitated passenger, who, at one point urinated in the aisle because another flight attendant refused to let her use the washroom in the first class cabin.
Upon arrival at Pearson International Airport, the plane was met by 5 Peel Regional police officers who took the agitated passenger into custody.
When contacted by Opinion 250, Councilor Stolz reluctantly confirmed he had tried to assist, and has since written a three page statement for police. Stolz says he believes the agitated passenger is facing a string of charges.
Peel Regional Police say they will confirm the list of charges tomorrow.
Stolz was on the flight to Toronto to attend the toy show for his business, Great White.
