Canada Wins 2nd Medal

Richmond, B.C. -  Ottawa's Kristina Groves has finished third to take the bronze medal in the Women's 3000m Speedskating event.

The gold medal went to Martina Sablikova of the Czech Republic, and Germany's Stephanie Beckert took the silver.

Groves captured the bronze by the slimmest of margins, finishing just .03-seconds ahead of Daniela Anschutz Thoms.  The Ottawa native won two silver medals at the 2006 Turin Olympics.

Canadian Teammates Clara Hughes and Cindy Klassen finished today's event in 5th and 14th place, respectively.
