Prince George, B.C. - The head of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities is in Prince George today for meetings with officials at both the city and regional district.

Brock Carlton is touring cities and towns across the province to hear their challenges, in the run-up to the federal government's budget.

Carlton says during his meeting with city officials, he heard about some of the unique initiatives underway in Prince George, including the myPG sustainability plan.

He's also heard specific concerns local officials would like to have spotlighted on Parliament Hill -- concerns regarding the city's changing demographics and a desire to put in place a process for enticing new immigrants to Prince George.

Carlton's next stop is in Kelowna.

How about talking to the people and putting a cap on the cities spending habits by capping tax hikes.
How about changing the way municipalities collect taxes away from the captive home owner and more towards the consumer of the general public of which all use city services.

I don't hold out much hope for the FMC, because basically it is nothing more than a redistribution of wealth outfit that would fit in well with radical communists when it comes to taxation and property ownership policy.
Who wants to entice immagrants to Prince George??? Especially when we have a high unemployment rate. What would they do when they get here?? Do we have jobs for immigrants?? Do we have jobs for anyone??

Maybe they could go to work for UNBC, School District, City of Prince George, Northern Health, or some other Government entity, as they seem to be the only ones that can afford to hire employees.
