Prince George, B.C. - The skyline in the Bowl has changed with the addition of the construction crane now in place in the staff parking lot behind the hospital.
As Opinion250 told you last week, the crane will be used first to assist with construction of a new parkade for staff at the hospital, then turn to work on the new Northern Cancer Centre by early fall.
The Chief Project Manager with the Northern Cancer Control Strategy, Hal Collier, says this winter’s mild weather has been a bonus.
Collier says the parkade construction is right on schedule – completion is set for late summer – and the contractors have not had to use any of the heavier excavation equipment they'd originally anticipated needing through the winter months.
(The pictures below were also submitted by Opinion250 reader, Stan, who captured the crane being lifted into place late Wednesday afternoon)
