Physician Coverage Arranged, Mackenzie Emergency Room Closure Cancelled

Mackenzie, B.C. - Northern Health has  made arrangements for locum physician coverage has been arranged for the week of March 22nd to 26th, 2010, which means the scheduled closure of the Mackenzie and District Hospital’s emergency room during that time has been cancelled.
 
Northern Health continues to ask residents of Mackenzie to make sure that they use the hospital emergency room wisely due to a reduced number of doctors in the community.
 
Northern Health continues to actively recruit both permanent and locum physicians to the community, and is committed to working with physicians and the community on short- and long-term sustainable solutions to recruitment challenges.

Unfortunately,this is a sad testiment to what our healthcare in B.C. has become in far too many places.
It won't be forgotten this time when we go to the polls.
I thought this would be a good time for Pat Bell to make one of his pompous "forward looking" statements about the great opportunity in Mac for employment.
