Building Awards Honour Top Notch Construction and Renovations

Prince George, B.C.- The Northern Building Awards handed out a lot of hardware.
The recent inaugural awards night saw the Gateway Lodge named as the Judges Choice Overall winner .
 
Owned by the Northern Health Authority, the Gateway Lodge, at 1488-20th Avenue, was built by Western Industrial Contractors Ltd. It won the Mixed Use – Commercial/Residential Category, as well as topping the judges’ score cards on the Commercial side of the Awards.
 
The Northern Building Awards was a joint celebration of the BC Northern Real Estate Board’s Commercial Council, the Canadian Home Builders Association – Northern BC and the BC Construction Association North. The best in Residential and Commercial building in the area from 100 Mile House to Prince George, and from Fort St. John to Prince Rupert were honoured.
 
Other winners include:
  • Versa Design Group of Prince George was involved in a number of award wining projects, both on the Commercial and Residential sides of the Event.
  • Creuzot Homes of Prince George was named Built Green Builder/Renovator of the Year for its Sommerville Project.
  • Community Seniors – Williams Lake Seniors Village.
  • Community Institutional – Sam Lindsay Aquatic Centre of Kitimat.
  • Community Educational – UNBC Student Centre, Prince George.
  • Retail – Central GM of 100 Mile House.
  • Office – Southridge Dental Office of Prince George.
  • Industrial – (tie) MPO Office & Shop of Fort St. John and Northern Electric of Prince George.
  • Renovation/Restoration – 100 Mile House Realty.
  • Hospitality – Ramada Hotel of Prince George
  • Marketing – Commonwealth Health of Prince George.

 Event organizers say they are very excited about the future for the Northern Building Awards.
