Rotten luck. Take this chance to go and check the expiration date on your insurance, it is easy to forget to renew. I personally would not have swerved violently to miss a deer in the road, some fresh venison would help soothe the pain of a damaged vehicle.

Another one with no Insurance, I bet he new , where the Plates so dirty that no one can read them, like so many others around here, sorry don't buy his Story.
he better get charged with no insurance too
I call BS on him not knowing he had no insurance. Guess it will be costing him a lot more now; a fine plus having to replace his vehicle out of his own pocket. Good too see.
Bad luck. Everyone can forget errands like renewing car insurance.
The driver war informed that his insurance had expired?

I don't buy it. Imagine he had hit another vehicle and killed/injured a whole family. Who would have paid for that?

Answer: Guess who!

He needs to be punished severely. While in jail he can have plenty of quiet time to make a resolution never break the law again.

I have forgotten to renew my insurance once, it took 3 days to remember. ICBC sends out a notice about a month before it expires, in my case that was long enough to forget. It was my wife who reminded me.

I ask all of you naysayers, how many times a week do you check your sticker on your plates? Believe it or not these things can happen.
It shouldn't happen. Anyone irresponsible enough to "forget" to renew their insurance shouldn't have a driver's license. If you can't handle the responsibility that comes with owning a car then you shouldn't be allowed to drive that car.
Okay 250-ers, come and get my license, because I am guilty, irresponsible, and, appparently, should not be allowed to drive a car. Lighten up, people.
I forgot once, and I was out of town when I thought of it, passing through Valemount, on a Sunday. My plate had expired the day before. I sweated bullets all the way back to PG. That experience basically cured me of forgetting about insurance. It was thirty years ago, can I be forgiven?
By the way, all of you who cry "Off with his head" should check to see if there are any skeletons in your closet.

metalman,

I hear you, I would love to see these perfect people in real life. Pretty easy to preach a sermon, quite another to live it.
In this day and age and in this province there is absolutely no excuse for "forgetting" to renew your insurance.

We'll try to forgive you metalman. You'll have to buy us all lunch first though.
Faxman and some others. You guys are full of crap. You spew the same s--t all the time. If the guy forget to renew his insurance then thats that. Its not a big deal. We pay third party insurance just for this sort of thing dont we???

You guys are always crying about the **what ifs** What if he hit someone, what if some one hit him, etc; etc;. What if I fell off a bridge landed on someones boat, went through the floor of the boat and they drowned??? It not bloodly likely to happen, but what if it did?? oooooh. If the dog hadnt stopped to crap, he would have caught the rabbit.

A quick check of his previous insurance file for the past 10,20, years, would tell you whether he actually forgot, or if he always renews late.

I forget to renew a few years ago on one of my cars, and after being waved through a road block the police noticed. They pulled me over further down the road. I had to pay a fine of $450.00 plus leave the car parked while I paid for a taxi to and from town (approx 10 Miles) to get insurance. Thats life, however it wasnt intentional.

So boys and girls you can see that three people on this site have already admitted to foregetting to renew, and none of them are criminals, so get off our backs.

I dont suppose those who are perfect have every exceeded a speed limit, came to a rolling stop, exceeded the speed limit in a school zone, ran an orange light, exceeded the speed limit in a construction zone. Talked on their cell phone since the new regulations. Bought insurance for pleasure only while they use it on a consistant basis for to and from work, and business. Smoke while children under 15 are in the car, drove without their seat belts, transported children without the proper seat belt, or bumper seat. etc; etc; etc; must be nice.
I'm glad to see you received a substantial fine Palopu. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
