Dziekanski Settlement Chatter Released By RCMP

The RCMP have released the  emails and notes about the settlement with Zofia Cisowski over the death   of her son Robert Dziekanski  at the  Vancouver Airport.

The  release of the emails  came  as a  release under the Freedom of Information Act.  The RCMP do not say who filed for the  release of the materials.

The  documents are 95 pages, and include earlier drafts of the apology but no secifics on the financials.  In one e-mail, Assistant Commissioner Al MacIntyre  suggests Deputy Commissioner Gary Bass  give Mrs. Cisowsi a handshake or  "hug" following his apology.

The settlement saw Zofia  Cisowski drop her civil suit against the RCMP in exchange for  an apology,  and  a cash  settlement that has not been released
