Greer Creek Fire 60 Percent Contained

Prince George, B.C.- The Greer Creek fire, southwest of Vanderhoof is now 60% contained.

Heavy machinery operators have completed a fuel-free line around the  6,102.0 hectare fire  and the cooler temperatures and overnight rain  have  been a big  help.

The evacuation alert  for residents  south of Nulki Lake remains in effect.

There are  229 personnel working on this blaze.  That number includes more than 100 firefighters on the  graound,  heavy equipent operators   8 helicopter  pilots and support staff.
