Prince George, B.C. - The Greer Creek fire southwest of Vanderhoof is now 70% contained.
Heavy machinery operators have completed a fuel free guard line around the perimiter of the fire and crews have worked all day today securing that line by burning fuels between the containment line and the fire front. Cooler and wetter conditions overnight and today are significantly reducing fire behaviour.
There are a total of 245 personnel are working to contain this fire including:
• 205 firefighters
• pilots for 5 helicopters
• personnel to handle 18 pieces of heavy equipment
