Cougars Home Opener in October

Prince George, BC For the first time in Prince George Cougars history, the team will play its home opener in October.  The Cougars kick off their 16th season at CN Centre on October 1, 2010 against the Vancouver Giants.  It will mark the first time in seven years that the Cougars home opener will be played against a BC division opponent, last doing so on September 19, 2003 against the Kootenay Ice.

The Cougars will play a total of 6 pre-season games, three of which will be at the CN Centre, leading up to the start of the club’s 17th season in Prince George.  The Cougars will open the regular season on the road, September 24, 2010 at Kamloops against the Blazers.

The Cougars will start the exhibition schedule with a tournament hosted by the Edmonton Oil Kings.  The Cougars face off with the Medicine Hat Tigers on Saturday, September 4, followed by a date with the Swift Current Broncos on Sunday, September 5.  Both games at Servus Place in St. Albert begin at 2:00pm Pacific Time.

The first pre-season game at CN Centre takes place on Friday, September 10, when the Cougars play host to the Edmonton Oil Kings, starting at 7:00pm.  The teams will meet again the following night, Saturday, September 11, with puck drop at 7:00pm.

The Cougars 2010 pre-season schedule closes with a home-and-home series with the Kamloops Blazers.  The BC division rivals square off on Friday, September 17 in Kamloops.  The Cougars host the Blazers on Saturday, September 18, starting at 7:00pm

16 years building for the future! I guess one more won't make much difference.
Any preliminary thoughts on the team? I may be interested in seasons tix to watch Brett but not if the season is like ones in recent years.
If they do not do better this year, playing wise, and attendence wise, then they may as well fold their tents and move on.

To start their first game against Vancouver could be considered as cruel and unusual punishment.
The only way this team will improve is if Dallas gets sacked. Anyone else with his record would have been gone long ago.
