City Councillor Makes a Splash At Downtown Block Party

Councillor Garth Frizzell  wipes the water from his eyes after being "dunked" click on the photo  for a video  of  his big splash.

 

Prince George, B.C.-  City Councillor Garth Frizzell was the  first  to  be "dunked" today  in the name of charity.  He is one of seveal people who have volunteered to  fall victim to the  straight aim of  anyone able to  hit the target at the "dunk tank" at the Downtown Block Party underway this hour.

The party is a  fundraisier for the CIBC Run for the Cure.

In addition to  paying to  try and dunk some local folks,   there is  a silent auction,  ice cream for sale,  hot dogs, burgers and chilli  for sale with  the proceeds  going to  help find a cure for  breast cancer.

Below left, Chloe Nakahara, Brittany Iwanciwski and Barry Nakahara  entertain  with some fine fiddle music, while at right,  "Champion" meets Andy the Miniature  Party Pony from  Dancing Horse Enterprises and his handler Ray Brown:

 

 

 

 

 

 

The block party runs until 3:00 this afternoon and is  in the  block between  3rd and 2nd Avenues on Brunswick Street.

Lots of people are employed and at work during this event. Life isn't just about those who work 8 - 5.................
All the news says unemployment is DECREASING in PG. Why the hell hold this on a Friday ? It would've been great to see what Mayor McMumbles comb forward hair would've looked like after going in the dunk tank ;-)
Shame on those people raising funds for cancer. They should have been more thoughtful... It's amazing to me that no matter what the story, these negative comments come from the same people.
Did it even occur to you that the orgnizers may have wanted this event to be on Saturday but things may have prevented that. Have you ever organized an event for a good cause?
