As new online communication methods become available, the ability and speed of information to travel quickly is now conflicting with Canadian Law.  Since the previous election, the laws surrounding election results has changed.  Public media organizations are now restricted to providing results no sooner than 7pm PST.

However, the wide availability and ease of use of online communication technologies has provided a way for organizations and individuals alike to provide the election results as soon as they're available. Although news websites such as Opinion250.Com and CBC.Ca are restricted from providing the results sooner than 7pm, it is predicted that US based websites such as Captain's Quarters will provide results as soon as they're available as the restrictions do not apply to websites based in the US.

Its all about Eastern Canada and not our right as equals to view the results at the same time. Its a shame.

I agree with Krisp that Election Canada is the one that controls the information so they should either hold all information back until all the polls close or stop discriminating against the citizens in the west with laws that don't work anyways.
