Fort Nelson- RCMP, along with the British Columbia Coroner's Office continues to investigate a collision between a CN Train and a vehicle that left one person dead.

 

The crash occurred Thursday morning, at 1:15 am at a CN Crossing approximately 10 kilometers south of Fort Nelson on Highway 97.

 

Fort Nelson Traffic Services is currently conducting the investigation and at this time any causal factors are not readily known.

 

Highway 97 was shut down for a period as police attempted to reconstruct the accident scene.

 

The identity of the dead person has not yet been released.
