Prince George, B.C.- A 24 year old  Prince George man is  facing weapons related charges after  RCMP discovered two hand guns on the weekend.

According to police,  on July 31st  at about 5:30 pm members of the Prince George RCMP Task Force pulled over a Black Dodge Pick up truck on 18th Avenue by the Aquatic Centre. Members were investigating a possible stolen vehicle as the licence plate did not fit the vehicle's description.

During the investigation members located a loaded 9mm Beretta pistol inside the truck, hidden between the driver's seat and centre console. Members also seized an assortment of ammunition found inside the vehicle.

24 year old Tyler Sheldon Borrowman, was arrested at the scene and taken into custody. He was later released by a Justice of the Peace on numerous conditions and will be facing charges of Unauthorized possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle, Careless use of a Firearm, and Possession of a Prohibited firearm with ammunition.

The next day, Prince George RCMP were called to a local laundry business where an employee had located a handgun while washing clothes for a customer. The handgun was located inside a sock and inadvertently dropped off with the dirty laundry . Police attended and seized a 45 calibre high capacity pistol with a magazine loaded with ammunition.

Police again arrested Tyler Sheldon Borrowman.  He has been held in custody where he will be facing more gun related charges as well as failing to comply with conditions.

Borrowman is alleged to  be a member of the Independent Soldiers.

I wonder when this judge will figure out bad guys don't obey the laws. Why did it take two guns and failing to comply with conditions to finally keep him in jail. Bet these three things are only the tip of the iceberg with this fine gentleman.
wild eh
That gun thing is nothing. No one was shot. No one was threatened. He will get out and do it again even though he's banned for a billion years. I think we should all carry pistols. That would be the best crime control possible and we would once again have the right to defend ourselves.
hey supertech, why don't you take that idea and move to the States
I must have missed the connection between this news story and the HST...
Wing nuts don't need a connection - they just cary the same rant on everywhere.
As he probably won't do any jailtime, how about fining him like they do for people that do really bad things like flick cigarette buts out their windows, speed, or have campfires larger than allowed.
He spoke:I can't afford to move to the states. This damn city and province has me being held for ransom. I'm retired and I pull in a whopping 920 bucks a month. It costs me 2000 dollars a month (taking in to account all costs) to survive and maintain a house that I own. I do have a daughter in California and she packs a gune all the time. She is 52 years old and has never had to use it. She has hurt no one and her 4 girls do exactly as mom. They haven't hurt anyone either. If they become a statistic, they will not be the deceased. Nothing at all wrong with that. How many abducted and disappearing women around here? I'll bet they might have been a different statistic if they had a hand gun? But you don't care how many Picktons we have in BC do you?? You might if one of your family goes missing. We have no right to defend oureves here. I'd move in a heartbeat if it were possible.
You would move to the biggest dictatorship in the world just because you can defend yourself with a gun down there? Your life must be sad if that is your determining factor of where to live out your days. Guess you should have planned better and set yourself up for your old age.
I've always wondered why everyone needs a gun if the US is such a great place. It seems that everyone is "carrying" for self-defence. It is quite interesting to read how many deaths (accidental and not accidental) are attributed to guns down there each year.
I agree with you Supertech, I too would move in a heartbeat if it were at all possible. As for Mr. Borrowman, our slack justice system will have you out with your slap on the wrist soon, as our Liberal government doesn't believe in building anymore jails. I really feel sorry for you R.C.M.P in your thankless jobs as it must be pretty monotonous arresting the same criminal over and over again and again.:(
Ha...ha...ha...ha.....Tyler Borrowman must feel like an idiot!!!!
May not sound like much, but hilarious nonetheless.
Public humiliation!!! Gotta love it!

Does anyone want to guess at the average IQ of an independent soldier? bahahaha
I don't see how this is big news. Almost anyone in Canada can own one of these guns if they are a law abiding citizen that has passed their restricted course to own a hand gun. Yes it should be locked up and only used at a firing range as per the rules and regulations, but I think the significance of this story is a bad laundry day for a known gangster more than anything and because of his past associations he will be held to the letter of the law for not having these guns properly secured... and if he doesn't have a restricted license (which the story fails to mention) then likely more charges will be appropriate.

Millions of Canadians own guns. Most have bigger badder guns than 'Tyler' has, and most gang bangers I think are aware of that otherwise we would have anarchy in the streets. They know or at least they should know that legal law abiding citizens can still walk into a gun store or go online and buy the latest and the greatest equalizer money can buy... most gang bangers can't do that and they are aware of their shortcomings... and its that uncertainty that keeps the psychopaths from barbarism.

I think most in law enforcement would agree with that as well. I could be wrong.
