Prince George, B.C. – The Fort George Highway Rescue Society has received approval to build a new rescue hall.
The application before City Council called for a rezoning of property at the west end of 18th Avenue at Foothills Boulevard.
The site was chosen because it has relatively easy access to highways 16 and 97. Currently the FGHS operates out of the ICBC centre on 15th Avenue. Council gave the request unanimous approval.
The rezoning includes a stipulation that there be a 5 meter wide buffer between the rescue hall and the neighbouring residential development.
