Smithers, B.C. – The Northwest’s largest ski and snowboard resort will likely be under new ownership very soon.

A group of investors has an agreed upon letter of intent to purchase Hudson Bay Mountain Adventures Inc in Smithers. The group includes Lorne Borgal, President of 20/20 Investments Inc and former President and CEO of the Whistler Mountain Corporation.

In a news release, Hudson Bay Mountain Adventures says the purchase is a positive step as the new ownership group is keen to see the mountain develop. Hudson Bay says the group will provide expanded resources and access to a solid capital base to fund development objectives.

The new group is also acquiring control of the land development on the Mountain being done by the 20/20 Diversified Income Trust Investors. Officials say it will take a while to clear up past financial issues, but they expect the new team will put the resort’s financial affairs in order while advancing the development at the mountain.

Hudson Bay Mountain Adventures says it expects the regional economy from Prince George to Prince Rupert to show strong growth over the next few years, creating jobs and attracting new people to live in the region.

The company says resort patrons will see new programs and what it calls “neat new improvements” on the mountain this year.

That's neat.
That is nice and "neat", probably a "neat"ly improvement to the hill.
