Prince Rupert, B.C. – There was a very different four-car pile-up in Prince Rupert earlier this week.
RCMP say four parked vehicles were destroyed when a logging truck failed to make a sharp curve early Wednesday morning.
Police says the truck was heading down Legaic Road when it tried to make a right turn on Kaien Road. The trailer and its load of logs overturned and spilled on to the vehicles causing up to $30, 000 in damage.
Investigators say speed and the size of the load were factors in the crash. Police ticketed the driver of the rig for having insecure cargo.
RCMP say the intersection has been the scene of a number of crashes. Mounties say drivers pick up speed heading down Legaic Road and don’t slow down enough to make the turn onto Kaien.

Well if the Mounties new that, they should pressure the city to change the intersection. I'm damn sure if the RCMP pressed hard on the city, it would be done quickly. They are the ones who should be talking to the city planners. Instead, they give a ticket and do nothing to change the intersection.
