Prince George – North Nechako Road is closed between Foothills and Highway 97 this morning as power lines are down.
The lines were brought down by strong winds that ripped through the region overnight. There is also a problem in the west end of the city.
According to BC Hydro, the wind storm had knocked out power in areas from Haida Gwaii through to Red Rock.
The wind was whipped up by a low pressure system that hit the coast of BC overnight , causing grief for many home owners in the region this morning.
Power has been knocked off to many regions, in and around the city.
BC hydro says they are attempting to get everyone back on power as quickly as possible.
The only good news out of the storm is the temperature is mild, plus 8 at 6:30. this morning.
