A 27-year-old man is in custody this morning in connection with a suspected sexual assault.

Officers in the VLA neighbourhood around 10pm last night, saw a woman running down the street yelling for help in the vicinity of 20th Avenue and Oak Street.

Police say the woman was being chased by a male suspect who's clothing was in disarray.  The pursuer attempted to run in the opposite direction when he noticed the officers, but was arrested a short distance away.

The woman was transported to Prince George Regional Hospital.  The man remains in custody while the investigation continues.
