Chilliwack- A 14 year old Girl who recruited other young girls to enter into the sex trade has been charged with two counts of sexual assault.

 

 The Chilliwack RCMP Serious Crime Unit has been investigating an allegation of the 14 year old female offering sexual services, and recruiting other youth into the sex trade.

 

This incident came to police attention on October 25th, 2010.

 

Police were able to identify the female involved and confirm her age, and have identified a male who solicited services.

 

The 14 year old youth represented herself as an 18 year old in an ad placed on Craigslist erotic services.

 

The ad which was previously posted on Craigslist under erotic services has been removed. Craigslist has been fully co-operative with the police investigation into this matter.

Two arrests were made in connection to this investigation on November 5th, 2010. The male suspect who solicited the services being offered has been charged with two counts of Sexual Assault.

 

The 14 year old female involved in offering services and recruiting others into the sex trade has been charged with one count of Procuring person(s) under the age of 18 for prostitution.

 

At least two, and possibly more, young females were recruited into the sex trade by the 14 year old female now charged.

 

Police are continuing to investigate and would like to speak to anyone with information related to this matter, or any other forms of child sexual exploitation. Police have identified the females involved and are working with them and their parents to address their needs, and ensure they are provided the support they need.

 

 

The male suspect charged, David Thomas Hilpert age 51 of Chilliwack, will be in court again on December 14th, 2010. Hilpert is currently out on bail on numerous conditions, one of which is to have no contact with those under the age of 16.
