Victim's wheelchair sits abandoned in the snow in front of the home that was the target of an arson attack  while firefighters plan their next step in  dealing with  the investigation and hot spots.

Prince George- A wheel chair bound woman has become the victim of a what is believed to  have been a targeted attack in the city overnight.

A passing motorist called in a house fire in the 4000 Block of Foster Road just after 1am. this morning.

A tenant of the home is a known gang member who is serving time in jail in Prince George.

He also operates the tattoo shop that burned in the downtown, at 7th and Victoria, less than 24 hours earlier.

(at right, the Foster Drive home  has extensive damage)

Same house they busted a few months ago. Maybe the owner will be a little more careful about who he rents to. Unless the gang owns it.
Looks like PG is well on its way to retaining its status as crime capital of Canada.
Hopefully we can find a way to rid ourselves of these scumbag gangsters. However, if people continue to buy their product? Thanks again to those firefighters for risking their lives. I hope the lady makes it!
When is our complacency going to end? im starting to get really PIZZED about these "gangsters". What can we do? A bylaw to kick any known gangster out of the city like we did to the aggressive panhandler a couple of years ago? Or do we need some people to organize some meetings and start a vigilante program?
Im so sick of this stuff. I used to live on that street and its such a shame. Seeing cars of shady people driving around at all hours of the night. Then finally a bust. And what a surprise, a few months later a tragic fire!

The worst part is that I believe that the victim used to be the owner of the house and she sold it to the drug dealers and decided to reside in the basement. I hope she gets better soon.

Thanks for the firefighters and police for doing their best. Unfortunately, we need to have legislation enacted that prevents known drug dealers from buying property in cities. Let them live in run down apartments away from good hard working people. Let's start busting them for anything and everything to get a message out there for future generations that it isnt a good life. Unfortunately, these ppl dont have to work an honest day ever and do not feel the penalties are severe enough to deter them from this type of activity. Im just sick of this!
Not that she is the first, but this poor lady is now an innocent bystander harmed by this gangster war. Hopefully this city will wake up before we have a Daniel Desrocher on our hands.

For those of you who forgot, little Daniel was just 11 when he was hit and killed by shrapnel from a bomb set off by a biker gang in Quebec. That event alone was the beginning of the end of that war.

I really hope this is the beginning of the end here.
So, you know she is an innocent bystander?
How would you know that?

Actually she is related to the Gang member in question
hmm, the guy's business and home in a 24 hour period.
"Do you think it might be arson, or somehow connected?" That was my impression of PG cop. Pretty convincing huh?
I hope there is an uprising (as other bloggers mentioned) and get these fu@# gangsters out of the city and into jail. This has gone way too far. God bless the lady and hope she gets better and gets oover the emotional scars.
Lots of people are related to gangsters. That doesn't make them criminals. Are they guilty of poor judgment? Yes of course they are. However association does not make one a criminal.
I agree with Howrd! No one deserves to burn alive! No matter what.
Absolutely sick! What if the fire caught the neighbors house as well, and innocent people died!?

I hope someone saw or knows something about this and these people get thrown in jail.
I remember sevral decades ago all thse large yellow signs went up across cities in North America. Neighbourhood Watch. Some of them are still going up.

Wonder if anyone still has those programs and whether they were/are effective.

Seems some of these people are known to not only to police, unless police are posting on here. So, what are those people doing? Maybe more important, what can they do?

London Ontario
http://www.neighbourhoodwatch.london.ca

There is no similar page for Prince George.

How about some gaming funds for this if it is no active in PG?
"Neighbourhood Watch is based on this concept of cooperation, and statistics prove that it works. When citizens take positive stops to secure their own property and neighbours learn how to report suspicious activity around their homes, break and enters and related offences decrease dramatically."

From the above linked web page ....

Opinions? ... true, or bs?

We talk about downtown cops on the street. Time to deal with the home front? Who is going to do it? Can't afford an additional $75,000+ per year RCMP for every neighbourhood serviced by an elementary school.
Arson??? Attempted murder should be the focus of the investigation. I hope the poor lady makes it, although she is in for a tough time with that kind of burn damage.
Pretty naive to think you can get rid of the gang activity. As long as there is a way for them to make money, they are here.
Wake up and its time to realize, we are the only ones that can change it. The police can only police them, the fundamental laws need to change so that it is not worth the risk of doing illegal activities. We need to stop coddling the criminals. Eye for an eye.
For the sake of public safety they should tell us all of the names and addresses of the competing gang members. You know a retaliation is coming. I will also be avoiding a certain trendy restaurant for awhile - might be another shootout coming...
Srsly?
No I'm sure its all fine. They burned his business and than his house with his mother in it. He'll probably shrug and they will have a beer and talk it over amongst themselves :-)
Dragonmaster:
You've alleged this lady is related to a gang member. I wish posters when they post would back up their claims with knowledge.
Anyway, no one deserves what happened. I know these idiots have cut off fingers and hands in the past to drug debtors and their ilk, but this person had no way to defend herself and she's in hospital because a known baby faced little idiot is involved in crime. I doubt he'll shed a tear and if he ends up like Moore, well, that's the life he made for himself and we'll be a lot better off without him.
Gang activity is here because people want a product that's illegal. So the next poster who wants to smoke their toke or take a little pill, well, all I can say is
"Join a gang, you're paying for them"
Actually that's a good point Slim - all of the self admitted dope smokers on this board are strangely quiet...
inter - I was refering to your avoiding the 'certain trendy restaurant'. Isn't that being a little paranoid?
It is weaksauce - I was already avoiding it just on principal :-)
Hope someone takes care of that wheelchair. They ain't cheap. Just ask PG Surg-Med.
What I heard on CKPG, the lady in the wheelchair is the mother of gang guys girlfriend.

Hey Slim buddy, if you listen to the news on the radio you would see I am alleging nothing. Only reporting what has been stated in the news Pal!
I wish posters when they post would not do so assuming they know what they're yaking about.
You know what they say about assuming don't you Slim?
There is not one neighbourhood in PG that is free of crime-related activity. One preventative tool is Block Watch. This has been very effective in our neighbourhood. More neighbourhoods need to climb on board with Block Watch. As citizens, we have tremendous power and presence in dealing with issues that affect our quality of life.
Dragonmaster thankyou, didn't hear news today, just read it.
The word is out! No jail time in B.C. Why do think crime is up? Slap on the wrist, the jails are full! CEO, has all the money! 36" TV"s in P.G. and steak on friday night at the local jail! Hell, may as well do a crime in B.C. at least they can eat! It's better than sleeping on the walk! Stupid! Crime pays more than 8 bucks an hour! Not everyone is a scholar. Make a deal now with the Afghanistan's Canada, Our criminals for your immigrants. Lets send our criminals to Afghanistan and lets see how many gang members hold up THEN!
FREE TRADE!
I have friend's in the States, B.C. has a weak criminal system, we need to implement a 3 strikes your out. Build about 3 major penitentiaries in the North that house 3 to 5 thousand and only feed them beans on toast, 3 times a day. Make them farm their own food. Only to make them feel like their in jail. Imagine the spin off jobs we would get. Cleaning, cooks, driving jobs, security, on and on and on, simple people need work! Lets make the most out of this criminal activity. Lets build it and they will come!
I'm with hammmy. Hard labor and NO pay. No medical insurance, no dental, Just add up the costs and give em a bill when they get out.
Hell Yah! Supertech!
The 3 strikes policy has been successful in the places it has been implemented. It usually leads to a drop in crime.
Everyone I worked with this lady and she is nothing but a sweet loving woman. She is wheelchair bound now and can't work and didn't deserve what has happened to her. I pray that she makes it through this.
Before anyone blames more people for their "gang connections" realize that just about everyone that has grown up or spent a lot of years in PG probably knows someone who is in a gang. They could be your old neighbour, the guy you sat next to in Math, the kid from your Gr 6 class. Knowing them doesn't mean you support their gang lifestyle, but buying their product does.
Nothing will change until we get some "hangin' judges". Ever heard the phrase, "exercise in futility"? I have. Crime doesn't pay. You misunderstood that phrase when someone first said it to you. Crime does pay.
Man, I hate making assumptions, but I'm gonna figure the news media finally got it right. BCTV indicates this woman was the mother of the girlfriend of this idiot Assance.
I expect this girlfriend is having a pretty tough time right now considering loyalties and such. Funny, I thought he swung the other way.
Just wondering what the posters that continue to state the the "self admitted dope smokers are being quiet", what you would like them to be saying??
See that's the difference between the bangers and the ordinary folk. The bangers can have there names printed in the papers or known to police and it doesn't stop them, because they don't give a shit. But when "interceptor" makes a comment "a certain trendy restaurant",instead of just naming the restaurant by name,he/she has to avoid doing so,because B.Meisner would have to remove the posting if the actual name was given, without absolute proof of gang members hanging out their,or being affiliated with the so called restaurant.Just as I have done in my above posting.
