Local Paramedic's Long Years of Service Recognized

Prince George, B.C.-  Albert Moehler, a Prince George paramedic was among 16 employees of the B.C. Ambulance Service to recieve a 30 year bar for his  years of exemplary service this week.

The  recognition was delivered by the Honourable Steven L. Point, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia,  at B.C. Government House in Victoria.

The cremony also  honoured  20 BC Ambulance Service (BCAS) employees  who were  presented with Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Exemplary Service honours.

The EMS Exemplary Service Medal recognizes professionals in the provision of pre-hospital emergency medical services, who have performed their duties in an exemplary manner, characterized by good conduct, industry and efficiency.

To be eligible for this prestigious award, recipients must complete 20 years of exemplary service, and perform at a level above and beyond the expectations of their employment. Typically, honourees have qualities that the EMS industry would like to see emulated, demonstrate exceptional leadership, and show extraordinary involvement within their community. "On behalf of the BCAS, I wish to congratulate each individual who will receive this esteemed medal," said BCAS Chief Operating Officer Les Fisher. "BCAS is very fortunate to have individuals of such a high-calibre working throughout our organization".
