Northern Lights Festival Starts This Evening

Prince George B.C.- The  4th Annual Northern Lights festival will light up Connaught Hill  at 5 p.m. today, but not before there is some downtown celebrating.

Tourism Prince George is behind a three  hour event  leading up to the official  flicking of the switch that will  see Connaught Hill come alive with  light displays.

Set to start at 2:00 this afternoon in J.O. Wilson Square  at 3rd and George Streets, the  three hour event will  feature hay rides, the Forestry and Rail Museum's mini train rides for a dollar a ride,  hot chocolate, cookies,  and games for the little ones.  If you have some

At 5 p.m., Mayor Dan Rogers will flip the switch.  Tourism Prince George CEO, Aiden Kelly says this  year, the Festival has  invested in  things like a back up generator, new power chords, and LED lights for the trees heading up  to  Connaught Hill. 

The Northern Lights Festival  will be  on  from this evening through to January 2nd, from 5p.m. to 10 p.m. each day.  The cost of  heading  to the  top of Connaught Hill to see the display is $10 per vehicle. 

All money raised goes back into the  Northern Lights Festival fund to  support the event  for the next year.
