Prince George, B.C. -  A two-kilometre stretch of the Trans Canada Highway east of Chilliwack remains closed to eastbound traffic following a rockslide on Friday evening.

In an update posted late tonight on DriveBC, the eastbound lanes of Highway 1 between Exit 151 (Peters Road East) to Laidlaw remain closed while crews continue rockbolting in the area of the slide.

There is a detour in place.  Eastbound travellers will divert at Exit 151 and use a westbound lane of the highway.  The Ministry of Transportation and Highways is advising all motorists to reduce their speed in the area and obey on-scene traffic personnel.

The rockbolting is expected to continue until Tuesday.
