Prince George, B.C.- As   Opinion 250 reported last Thursday, Kevin Falcon will be coming to Prince George to announce his candidacy for the Liberal Leadership.
Falcon will make the announcement first on Tuesday morning in Cloverdale, then head to Prince George to repeat the announcement at an event in Prince George.
The event is set for 6 p.m. at the Coast Inn of the North on Tuesday.
Sources had informed Opinion 250 of the planned announcement last week,   just as a group of locals had taken out a one page ad calling on Falcon to run for the party leadership.

So if he is going to run, then just get at it.
What's the point of all the fanfare?
Why do they all make these big high-power anouncements, like they some kind of messiah, come to save us all!
Everyone already knows he is going to run anyway.
This is a leadership thing...not an election.
The voters have no control over who gets the nod, so what's the big deal?
And who pays for Falcon to come to Prince George...is that more tax payers dollars,or some of his leadership "campain" funds?
who is this falcon guy?
I read his full page ad the other day. The list of supporters was most interesting, too. In the name of political correctness, I will not comment on the list of supporters. Hey! I already did. Whaddya know? I will let some one braver than me comment more.
Whats the issue with Falcon having supporters in PG. Would you rather they say and do nothing and let the south choose our new potential premier? I can appreciate that the Liberals currently have a reputation just north of pond scum, but I hope like hell that can change with new leadership. I remember the 90's very well and I'll take Falcon over any unioncentric candidate the NDP will undoubtably field. I am no fan of Campbells last 3 years in power. The carbon tax, HST implementaion make my blood boil. I hope it can be fixed without giving the NDP the keys to the province
Just another Campbell clone. Another of Campbell's sheep out to promote the HST. One of them will get to be premier which we have no say over , but it does not mean we have to listen to or believe the lies that will come out of their mouths.
Recall is the only opportunity we have to rid ourselves of the Liberals.
dow7501: "Would you rather they say and do nothing and let the south choose our new potential premier?"

Nope. We need a northern view.

1. like anyone else, they can express their view

2. theirs is not THE northern view. Theirs is THEIR northern view.

3. I prefer to see who is running before I would back anyone

4. As a result of my thoughts that the support is too early by those individuals, I think less of not only those who have put their name in lights at his early stage but also of Falcon if he had anything to do with that.
BTW dow7502 .... The south WILL choose our new premier.
Yes, the south WILL choose the new Liberal party leader.
They always have and they always will, without question.
My first indication of what kind of a guy Falcon really is,came during the Eagle Bluff fiasco during the start of the Sea to Sky highway.
When the protestors, who were trying to save a delicate ecologial system from being paved over, refused to budge,Falcon did not show leadership,he showed blatant anger when his orders as Transportaion minister were not obeyed.
This guy was just plain MAD!
You could see it in his eyes and hear it in his voice, and there was no doubt who was calling the shots, as far as Falcon and the police were concerned.
I can only imagine what dictatorial traits he would show as Premier and party leader with all that power in his bag.
Scary guy.
I am at a loss to understand why anyone thinks he would be good for the north or anywhere else B.C.?
I also think that the Liberal party has all ready made up it's self-serving mind as to who gets the top job.
These people are smart in terms of polticial manipulation of the voters.
Unfortunately that may only come to light after the fact, when it is too late.
In reality,it is not about Kevin Falcon,it IS about what is good for the north.
Nobody running for the leadership of the Liberal party understands that...or cares.
"These people are smart in terms of polticial manipulation of the voters."

I am not quite sure how you can still say that given what has happened in the last few months. They suffer from the same thing so many suffer from. They eventually self destruct.

They forget how the system is supposed to work and take too much for granted.

This is a time for all in the caucus to show their true colours. If they do not step into the right camp, they will soon disappear.
I agree up to a point gus,but the desperation in which the Liberals rammed through the HST, at the risk of decimating the party, tells us that something is very wrong on the inside.
Something that they would rather we did not get to see.
They are pretty sure they can finess voters back into the fold with the right manipulation and spin between now and 2013.
Let's not kid ourselves...they DO have a plan.
I completely agree however, that those in the Liberal caucus who toe the party line and stay on this path of political destuction, are going down hard!
What they are doing, doesn't even makes sense.
I would like to think the voters are a lot smarter now, after seeing just how arrogant this government really is, and the extent to which they will go to do a snow job the voters.
I smell a rat!
With changes to the Liberal constitution that will allow for equal riding votes, it will in fact give the North and rural ridings much more clout in choosing a leader. So the South does not and will not always chose our potential leader. Come election time they certainly will but not for party leadership. Certainly this group of supporters are not the "northern voice" of everyone. Very keen insight guss. The fact you think less of early supporters is really very petty gusss.
