Prince George, B.C.- The arson investigation into a deliberately set fire which ripped through a Foster Road home on November 24th has now become a homicide investigation.
Police advise the 56 year old female victim, Linda Joyce Fredin has died. Fredin , who required the use of a wheel chair , was pulled from the fully engulfed home by Fire Crews on November 24th..
“This investigation has now been determined as a Homicide investigation due to the passing of Linda Fredin who was home at the time of the fire. The victim had been transported to Vancouver General Hospital via Air Ambulance last Wednesday and members were advised early this morning by medical staff that she had died. An autopsy will be performed later this week” states Cst. Lesley Smith, Prince George RCMP Media Liaison.
After identifying an individual who has a connection to the house fire and the suspicious fire at a local Tattoo shop the day before the house fire, police believe that the incidents are gang related.
Police continue to investigate evidence found at the scene and are following up on a number of leads.
