Prince George, B.C.- The  contingency fund set up to provide money for projects aimed at improving the downtown of Prince George still has a healthy balance.

The fund was initially set up with $350 thousand dollars, and so far, $176,562 dollars have been accessed for a number of projects.

Can I get paid to do a study to see whether we have the same chewing gum problem on sidewalks downtown as Nanaimo does? :-)
Good one gus!!ya may have put a bag in there ear..hehehe!
The Downtown Clean Team was a good investment IMO. The folks from BIG did a great job and the difference was noticed immediately. I hope they continue with that partnership.
Agreed. The downtown clean team was great!
Yup, downtown clean team is a very good thing. I know living in Quesnel for a number of years people there would always describe PG as dirty.

If we can have some of our less fortunate residents help us clean up the streets and be part of a better image I think it's a win/win. Win for the residents to live in a cleaner city and throw a few bucks at those less fortunate that could definitely use the money.

I think if the City put a few dollars at painting a nice mural on the parkades it would look even nicer.
With the canopies down, there should also be a $63,250 of freed up funds in 2011.
