Woman's Body Found in Burning Home in Kitwanga

Kitwanga, B.C. – A woman has  been found dead in a home that was in flames in Kitwanga .

RCMP say the  fire on Boxing day  was in a  single family residence on School Road.

When the Gitwandak Village Fire Department arrived on scene yesterday morning, they discovered the body of a 47 year old woman in the home.

The BC Coroners Service is currently investigating the circumstances involved in the woman’s death, there is no indication of the death being suspicious at this time.  The New Hazelton RCMP Detachment will work alongside the Coroner to assist in determining the cause of the fire and death.

Further details regarding the identity of the 47 year old woman will not be released until her  next of kin have been notified.
