Cindy Klassen of Winnipeg has captured a bronze medal in the women's 3,000-metre long-track speedskating event at the Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy.

Klassen finished behind a pair of Dutch skaters to clinch her second straight Olympic bronze in the event, she was third four years ago at the Games in Utah.

Klassen's bronze brings Canada's medal count to two.  Jennifer Heil won the women's moguls event in freestyle skiing yesterday.

Canadian Beckie Scott finished out of medal contention earlier today, placing 6th in the women's 15-kilometre cross-country skiing event.  She had been expected to medal.

But the Canadian women's hockey team has improved to 2-and-0, with a 12-0 trouncing of Russia today.  The team blasted Italy 16-0 yesterday.
