Spruce Kings Make Seven Trades

Prince George, B.C.-  The Prince George Spruce Kings were active during the January 10th trade deadline with seven deals completed.
RJay Berra was traded to the Grande Prairie Storm of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) in exchange for Ben Woodley, a 19 year old 6' 07" 230  lbs defenceman from London Ontario and Dustin Beairsto, an 18 year old 6' 185 lbs forward from Spruce Grove Alberta and future considerations.

 Derek Henderson was also traded to the Grande Prairie Storm of the AJHL in  exchange for future considerations
 Sam Waterfield, a 19 year old 6' 03" 230 lbs defenceman from Victoria BC,  was added to the roster. Waterfield had been playing with the Dawson Creek  Rage of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) and does have Junior A experience in the BCHL with the Burnaby Express and Nanaimo Clippers.

 Justin Fillion was traded to the Victoria Grizzlies in exchange for Dylan  Nowakowski and future considerations. Nowakowski, a 19 year old 5' 09" 160 lbs forward from Calgary Alberta was then traded to the Alberni Valley Bulldogs along with defenceman Mike Puddifant in exchange for Ryan Renz. A
 17 year old 6' 02" 210 lbs defenceman from Castlegar BC, Renz is committed to the NCAA Div I Northeastern Huskies for the 2011-12 season.

 Nic DeSousa was traded to the Trail Smoke Eaters in exchange for future considerations.

 The Spruce Kings also traded Ryan Renz to the Vernon Vipers in exchange for  18 year old 6' 02" 170 lbs Todd Skirving, a forward from Thunder Bay Ontario  and future considerations.

 All players are expected to join the Spruce Kings this week for to skate in  a couple of team practices and to be in the lineup when the team hosts the Trail Smoke Eaters on Friday night and the Vernon Vipers on Saturday night.
