Prince George, BC – The new Officer in Charge of  the Prince George Detachment of the RCMP is Inspector Eric Stubbs as the Officer in Charge of the Prince George RCMP Detachment.

He is currently the Officer in Charge of the Terrace Detachment, RCMP. Inspector Stubbs is originally from Alberta and joined the RCMP in 1993. After postings in southern BC, he came to the North District in 2000 when he was promoted to Mackenzie. Stubbs served as the Detachment Commander in Queen Charlotte City from 2003 to 2005. He then transferred to Terrace as the Operations NCO and has been the Officer in Charge for the past three years. In addition to his extensive detachment policing experience, Inspector Stubbs is well versed in aboriginal policing, with policing experience in nine First Nations communities.

"On behalf of Council, I am pleased to welcome Eric into our community and am confident that his leadership, dedication, and passion will be extremely valuable to our local detachment," said Mayor Dan Rogers. "

"I would like to thank the City for this tremendous opportunity and I’m very excited to take on the role of Superintendent," said Stubbs. "I am extremely eager to begin my new duties and start working with the outstanding individuals already in place at the Prince George Detachment. Finally, I would like to recognize the past work of Superintendent Butterworth-Carr and I wish her the best in her future role."

Inspector Stubbs will take over the post of Superintendent Brenda Butterworth-Carr, who is being promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendent in charge of the National Aboriginal Police Services in Ottawa. The dates for the departure of Superintendent Butterworth-Carr and the arrival of Inspector Stubbs have not been finalized.

CONGRATS!! and wish you all the best on continuing all of the great work Ms. Butterworth-Carr has done and started!!!
Prince George's gain is certainly Terrace's loss. Insp Stubbs manages to balance good office morale with progressive policing that has made a visible improvement in Terrace. Good luck Eric!
just shuffeling the big guys around in the most crime riddled area in Canada, Northern British Columbia! The RCMP are a JOKE! Time for them to leave, and some should leave and go to PRISON!

taxinapothole...........you are kidding, right?
Its great to see someone coming from a smaller detachment, and I've heard nothing but good about him too. Just glad no one was parachuted in from the LMD. From the town of Mackenzie, where yuh done good, to running PGCity.
Congrats, Superintendent Stubbs.
Runner46...........not kidding! The people of Canada should get their heads out of their arses and start admitting what really is going on! Best country in the world? Compared to what? We won't be for long if these Governments keep pulling the wool over your eyes!
Taxinapothead !
He can only do better than BBC. At least he isn't afraid to make a decision here and there.
