Prince George, BC– The MLA for Prince George-Valemount, Shirley Bond, says she is glad she and Pat Bell made the cut and continue to be in the new, smaller Cabinet of Premier Christy Clark. “The cabinet has been reduced by one quarter, so I am really pleased that both Pat and I remain and that there will be two strong voices for the north.”
Bond has new duties, as her former portfolio of Transportation and Infrastructure is now in the hands of Blair Lekstrom.
Bond is the Solicitor General and Minister responsible for Public Safety. “It is a very broad based complex ministry” says Bond, “I have always been very passionate about having safe communities”. Her new post will see her dealing with matters of crime prevention and reduction, particularly as it pertains to gang activity.
“I am very much looking forward to this role.”
