Nothing against this new person for the northern cancer canter but why have cancer centers period there no use for anyone anyway what does it do, Look at it this way for the last 40 some years billionsand billions are raised for the cure for all sorts of diseases from cancer, aids and countless others.. thats billions each year and 40 years later still no cure for any of these diseases and whys that. All this money raised are going into pharmaceutical company's pockets year and year out and in order for them to continue taking your money for company gain they throw a new cancer center in here and there. You gotta realize there will never be a cure for cancer or aids or any other disease or even if there was there will never come a time it will see the light of day cause then these parmaceutical company's all over this planet will simply go out of business. But they will continue to give false hopes for cures with new cancer centers or any other center for the matter. Its good this person got the vacant post but why would someone take a position like that knowing no cure or good will come from it but a bigger pay cheq.
Canuckfan, we are all entitled to our opinion, eventhough it may be wrong in the opinion of millions of cancer survivors.

The billions and billions of dollars spent for the caring for people with cancer is a good investment. Their are many survivors of cancer that will attests to it. It may defer death for a year or twenty years, but during that time period, the individual lived life to the fullest.

We start dying the day we are born. That's a fact of life. In the last century, we have added a lot of chemicals in our food and air. That has to have an impact. Maybe the answer is not to worry about the quantity of food coming out of an acre of land, but quality. Ever stop to see what people bring to the sales counter at the grocery stores. See how much the food that they are buying is processed food. Scary.
canuckfan, go and visit the Kelowna Cancer Radiation Clinic at Royal Ave/Lakeshore Drive and the adjacent Lodge.

Then, I am sure, yoy will make another more educated and compassionate comment.
