Trip to the Polls for Federal Vote Likely

Prince George, B.C.- Get ready for a spring Federal election.

The   opposition parties in Ottawa have made it clear they will not support the budget introduced this afternoon by Finance Minister Jim Flaherty. Flaherty has made it clear there is no “negotiating” this budget.

So, that means, the Liberals, NDP and the Bloc, could band together and topple the Harper Government as early as Thursday of this week when there is a vote planned for the House.

That would trigger an election being called, and a trip to the polls in early May.

The estimated cost of a federal election? A cool $300 million dollars, that works out to about $9 dollars for every man woman and child in the country.

For British Columbia, it will be another addition to planned trips to the polls this year.

There will be a referendum on the HST, there could be an early provincial election, and this is the year for the municipal vote as well.

If the Liberals and Christie Clark recalled the legislature and got rid of the HST, there would be no need for a referendum or an early election. Clark could stay in power until Sept. 2013.

That would get rid of two elections. If the goofy Federal Liberals, NDP, and Blocks passed the budget, we would not need a Federal Election for a year. That would leave us the local election which of course we need to get rid of **you know who**

Have a nice day.
The Bloc, the Liberals and the NDP are delusional. Nothing is going to change, and they know it. They just don't know what else to do and they are desperate for "Power". That is all this about for them.

The irony is that when it comes to the budget, everything is tied to dollars and cents. And, the current Conservative government has done a pretty credible job of getting us through this financial mess. Who in their right mind could possibly criticize the way our government has handled our finances?

Exactly, none of the opposition. They just want to hand out more money, spend more money and increase our taxes to pay for it. Not for me. Thank you very much.

Things are finally turning around after a challenging 2 years, now these goofs want to disrupt things for their own personal gains. I have to question their true motives.

I am pretty sure they will agree to the budget, because they can not risk Harper getting a majority government.

Ignatieff has no credibility. Layton knows he can not win any more seats but can loose seats. Neither party has pot to pee in or a window to throw it out. The Bloc can only get so many seats.

Harper wants to go to the polls and wanted them to pull the trigger, thus he comes out looking like a hero.

Not to long ago we had a government which balanced the books and achieved 7 (seven) consecutive surplus budgets in a row and then the Conservatives took over!
Yes, princegeorge (or is it mrpg), legend has the liberals balancing the budget way back in the good old days. You neglect to mention that they raided the EI surplus to work their magik. Robbing Peter to pay Paul does not accomplish much. I do believe your bias is showing.
As stated, once the polls close in Ontario and Quebec, the election will be over.
