Prince George, B.C.- The campaign to raise funds to build the Kordyban Cancer Lodge is a quarter of a million dollars closer to its goal.

The NorthlineCredit Unions of Northern BC are:  Integris, Spruce, Bulkley Valley, Williams Lake & District, North Peace, Northern Savings, and Lake View credit unions.  Today, they presented a cheque for $250 thousand dollars to the capital campaign.

The money will be dedicated to the “Northline Credit Union Library” at the lodge, which will provide those who are staying at the lodge a quiet space on the second floor where they can read.

Last year alone, more than 1200 people from Northern BC stayed in similar lodges in Vancouver, Kelowna and Victoria as they received cancer treatment.

The cost to build the Kordyban Lodge is $10 million dollars. Just last week, donations totalling $4 million were made by the Kordyban and Novak families and West Fraser Timber.

So far,   the campaign has raised  nearly $9 million dollars for the construction of the lodge.

Anyone interested in making a donation or in helping to raise funds for the Kordyban Lodge should contact the CCS office in Prince George at 250-564-0885.

Who is building it, a local contractor or someone from out of town!!!!!
I don't think it matters who is building it, what matters is some people have made generous donations and it will help people with cancer.
Wow great news. Nice to see some locals step up and give a big gift back to the community.
