This morning's light snow is just setting the stage for what's to come

Prepare your shovels!

Environment Canada has just issued a Heavy Snowfall Warning for the Prince George region...

The Weather Office had been forecasting between 2 to 4cm of snow over the course of the day, but now says between 15 and 20cm is expected to fall by tomorrow morning.

At this point, just fine snow is falling in the downtown core and the sun is actually trying to break through the cloud cover.

But, while this car owner may get away with a light 'dust off' in the not-to-distant future, venturing out later in the day may require a heavier hand.

Environment Canada says while warnings have not been issued for southern B.C., snow is expected across widespread areas in the range of 5 to 15cm.

Temperature-wise, our region is warming up.

Yesterday's low was minus-19 degrees celsius.

Today, we're expected to hit minus-5, before dropping back down to minus-9 overnight.
