Only the main floor shell remains of the Pineview Community Hall

The Fire  Marshall has been called in to investigate the cause of the blaze that  destroyed the Pineview Community Hall.

The fire started overnight, and by  4:30 this morning the building was fully engulfed in flames.

The main part of the hall had been built in the '40's, but a new front entrance section had just recently been completed. The photo at right features the sign which boasts the $100 thousand dollar addition.

Firefighters at the scene say it looks like the flames started in faulty wiring at the sump pump, but the Fire Marshall will make the final determination.

The building was insured for  $500 thousand dollars.

Residents who took a drive this morning to view the damage, expressed shock over the blaze  especially since the building had just recently hosted Pineview's Snow Frolics, the first event  held at the new facility.

The same night the Pineview Hall caught fire, the PG Snowmobile clubhouse on Scott Road caught fire. It started a couple hours before the Pineview Hall went up in smoke. Was someone up late Sunday night with nothing to do?
