A new skier spends a day in the winter sunshine learning the winter sport

Mother Nature, or Father Winter, has cooperated with parents and students this spring break...

Families looking to head to local ski hills for the two-week break from school are in for a big treat as there's snow on the hillsides and deals in the ticket offices!

Purden Ski Village, Tabor Mountain Ski Resort, and Powder King Mountain Resort are all offering up spring break specials for skiers over the next couple of weeks.

A large number of children and their parents turned out at Purden yesterday to take advantage of lessons being offered at the hill.

And conditions could not have been any more idyllic -- there was not a single cloud in the sky to interrupt the breathtaking view.

And, of course, when little legs became too tired for skiing, there was always sledding.
