A 28 year old Prince George man is to appear in court, April 5th to face charges in connection with a raid on his home on Aitkin Crescent .
Police seized a computer and some related equipment in a raid on the residence on March 6th. The man, as yet unidentified, was taken into custody but released the following day.
The evidence obtained in the search was turned over to the Crown for possible charges. A Police spokesman says the seizure of evidence in Prince George is related to a massive child porn bust in several countries over the past few months in four countries. There have been arrests made in Canada, the US, Australia and Britain. Nine of the accused are from Canada, three are from Australia and two from Britain.
In British Columbia, two people face charges, a Courtenay man and the Prince George resident.
Police have called the massive child porn operation as “Molestation on demand”, with live streaming video of adults sexually assaulting children.
Seven victims, the youngest aged 18 months, were identified by US Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez.
The case began in May of 2005 and received major assistance from a new software program developed by Microsoft Canada.
