Mackenzie RCMP say a Prince George logging truck driver was killed in a crash near that community last night.
Police says 52-year-old Joseph Leroux succumbed to injuries received during a logging truck mishap on the Phillips Forest Service road just after 8pm last night.
RCMP say it appears the truck's load of logs shifted during the crash, pinning the driver inside. Members of the Mackenzie Fire Rescue group freed the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Details of what may have caused the crash have not been released.
TruckSafe B.C. says the fatality is the 4th forest-industry related death of 2006.
