Prince George City Council will write a letter to the Premier, urging legislation to cover the home inspection business.

The letter is a response to a request from the President of the Canadian Association of Home and Property Inspectors B.C. In that letter, Bill Sutherland, reminded Council the Premier has promised to bring forward such legislation. Although there has been talk of such legislation coming soon (see previous story) Sutherland says the government has “lapsed into lethargy, leaving BC homebuyers to fend for themselves against con artists masquerading as house inspectors.”

According to CAHPI B.C.’s President, Bill Sutherland, his organization is working towards certification that would make mandatory licensing of inspectors happen by as early as January of 2007.
